What kind of birth support does Bushra provide?

I provide personalised support throughout pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period. As a UK-trained midwife with over 18 years of experience, I offer evidence-based guidance, practical preparation for labour and continuous emotional support during your birth in hospital.

My approach focuses on helping you feel informed, calm and confident as you prepare of birth, while ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.

I currently work only in Abu Dhabi.

In the UAE, births take place in hospital settings. I provide support for women giving birth in hospital and work alongside the maternity care team to ensure you feel informed, supported and confident throughout your labour and birth.

All antenatal and postnatal consultations are conducted as personalised home visits, allowing you to feel comfortable and supported in your own environment. These one-to-one sessions give us the time and space to discuss your pregnancy, prepare for birth and address any concerns in a calm and private setting.

My role is to complement the care provided by your doctors and midwives while offering continuous emotional and practical support for you and your partner during the birth.

No, you don’t. While many women choose a labour support package, you can also book individual sessions for antenatal or postnatal care.

Some women simply want support preparing for birth, guidance during pregnancy, or help after their baby arrives. I provide personalised sessions that may include birth preparation, postnatal recovery, newborn care and lactation support for early feeding challenges.

This means you can still benefit from professional midwifery support even if you choose not to have labour support.

Most women reach out during their second trimester, as availability can be limited around due dates.

However, you’re welcome to get in touch at any stage of pregnancy. Even if you are later in pregnancy, we can discuss how I may still be able to support you in preparing for birth.

Absolutely. My role is to support both you and your partner.

Many partners want to be involved but may feel unsure about how to help during labour. I guide partners on practical ways to support you, including comfort techniques, positioning and understanding what is happening during each stage of labour. This helps them feel confident and involved in the birth experience.

During our preparation sessions we discuss both non-pharmacological and medical pain relief options available in hospital.

This may include breathing techniques, movement and positioning, water therapy, as well as medical options such as epidurals and other medications. Understanding these options before labour helps you feel confident and able to make informed decisions about what feels right for you during birth.

Birth can sometimes take unexpected turns. My role is to remain a calm and steady presence, helping you understand what is happening and supporting you in making informed decisions.

Whether your birth progresses naturally or requires medical support such as induction, instrumental delivery or caesarean birth, I will be there to ensure you feel reassured, supported and confident throughout the experience.

Once you book, you will first receive a client intake form to complete. This allows me to understand your medical history, previous pregnancies or births, and your expectations for this birth so I can tailor my support specifically to you.

We then arrange a face-to-face consultation, conducted as a home visit, where I meet you and your partner. During this session we discuss your pregnancy, any previous birth experiences and what matters most to you for your upcoming birth.

Together we create a personalised plan of care, including preparation for labour, comfort measures, pain relief preferences and how you would like to be supported during your birth.

From that point onward, you will have direct access to contact me throughout your pregnancy if you have questions, concerns or need reassurance.

As your due date approaches, we continue preparing for labour so you feel calm, informed and confident.

Postnatal support focuses on helping you feel confident and supported as you recover and adjust to life with your newborn.

I provide guidance with newborn care, emotional wellbeing and physical recovery in the early days after birth.

As a qualified lactation practitioner, I also offer support with breastfeeding and early feeding challenges, including latch, positioning, milk supply concerns and building confidence with feeding in the first days and weeks after your baby arrives.

Yes. Many women who have had a previous caesarean birth want additional support when planning their next birth.

I provide preparation and guidance for women considering a vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) as well as those planning a repeat caesarean. The focus is always on helping you feel informed, supported and confident in the birth plan that is right for you.

This complimentary call is an opportunity for us to briefly connect and discuss where you are in your pregnancy and the type of support you may be looking for. I’ll explain how Birth by Bushra services work and answer any initial questions you may have.

The goal is simply to see if my support feels like the right fit for you before moving forward with a full consultation.

Women choose Birth by Bushra because they want experienced, compassionate support during one of the most important moments of their lives.

With over 18 years of midwifery experience, I combine professional knowledge with personalised care to create a supportive and empowering birth experience. My aim is for every woman to feel heard, respected and confident as she prepares for birth and enters motherhood.
